General Contracting 

Commonwealth Building is a full-service general contractor providing services from the pre-construction phase to the closeout phase and everything in between.  Our team approach is embedded into our company’s culture and is instilled on every project as we work closely with our subcontractors, vendors, design teams, and our clients.   

This team approach along with open transparency enables us to develop trust-based relationships with our internal and external partners, allowing us to deliver the highest level of service and quality for all our projects. 

Preconstruction

Commonwealth Building’s preconstruction team provides comprehensive due diligence and preconstruction services early on in the construction cycle. We strongly believe that advanced planning is the key to the success of our projects, allowing us to ensure our clients that time, cost, design, and processes are aligned well before starting construction. 

As part of our preconstruction services we offer conceptual estimating, value engineering, constructability analysis, procurement, permitting, scheduling, logistics planning, and risk management.  

Design Build

Commonwealth Building offers a Design-Build project delivery as an alternative to the traditional design-bid-build approach, that can economize the schedule and reduce overall cost. We partner with amazing design teams with an integrated approach to the entire design-build process.  

Being involved early on in the conceptual phase of the project allows us to provide our clients and design teams with value engineering services, constructibility analysis, and cost control measures during the design process. Our lines of communication are always open to ensure a streamlined design-build process from concept to completion.

Special Projects and Maintenance

Commonwealth Building’s special projects and maintenance division offers a wide range of services for small projects and repairs throughout a variety of market sectors. This division has a dedicated team of self-perform labor that can be deployed quickly to handle everyday workorders. Our operations manager handles the coordination, estimating, and project management required to keep up with this fast-paced service.  

Some of the services for this division include carpentry, flooring, painting and wallcovering, ceilings, retail fixtures, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
